My Favorite Flower Seeds

My Favorite Flower Seeds

These flowers seeds are best when planted after the last frost. Till your soil and plant them in full sun. They will grow beautiful as the weather warms up and give you flowers from spring through the summer months.
Always dead head the spent blooms and cut for beautiful arrangements in a vase to bring color inside your home. Leaving plenty of blooms to bring the bees, humming birds, butterflies and predatory insects to your garden.
Don’t forget to save some seeds for the next year by cutting spent flower heads and drying them before saving. It’s best to lay them out on a baking sheet. When completely dried store in an envelope or glass container.
Avoid planting veggies in the shade of sunflowers and zinnias.

My Favorite Spring Seeds

My Favorite Spring Seeds

These veggies are cooler weather loving plants that don’t mind a little frost and snow. The thrive in the cooler temperatures of the early spring to give you a bountiful harvest.
I plant them when the temperatures warm up and I can work the soil. Keeping the soils moist by spraying them with my garden spraying jug a few times a day to keep the soil moist but not soaked.
There is no need to seed start these seeds. They can be directly sowed in your raied garden beds and benefit from not being transplanted.

My Warm Season Seeds

My Warm Season Seeds

These veggies are warm weather loving plants and enjoy thriving in the warm to hot days, full sun of summer. Depending on where you live, plant seeds when evening temps stay at 50 degrees.
Sweet Peppers, Hot Peppers and Tomatoes take a long to get established and benefit from seed starting indoors before getting planted outside.
Seed starting should be done about 6 - 8 weeks before planting outside and re-potting may be required to establish healthy roots.
Make sure to harden off your seedlings before planting outside by bringing them out on warm days, with morning sun, letting them have a bit of shade and bring them back in at night for about a week.
